is seeking a full-time, qualified applicant for the position of Federal Grant Writer at its Birmingham, AL 35216 office location.
This position will serve as the key staff member responsible for the entire grant development and submission process for the NaphCare Charitable Foundation and must have verifiable extensive experience submitting and securing major federal-level NIH grants.
The successful candidate will maintain a working knowledge of the Foundation's mission to help identify and apply for various grants that meet the organization's needs and provide support and coordination to researchers and staff throughout the duration of the award.
As a Federal Grant Writer with NIH experience, your primary responsibility will be to secure funding through successful grant applications from federal sources.
You will play a vital role in supporting the organization's mission to provide comprehensive healthcare services to underserved populations.
Your expertise in federal grant writing and understanding of the unique requirements and regulations will be critical in securing funding for various programs and initiatives.
Key
Responsibilities:
Grant Research and Identification:
o Conduct extensive research to identify federal grant opportunities suitable for the NaphCare Charitable Foundation programs and services.
o Stay updated on federal funding priorities, guidelines, and eligibility criteria for health-related grants.
o Collaborate with the NaphCare Charitable Foundation team to identify specific needs and align them with potential grant opportunities.
Grant Proposal Development:
o Prepare high-quality grant proposals, ensuring compliance with federal grant requirements and guidelines.
o Collaborate with program directors and subject matter experts to gather necessary information for proposal development.
o Clearly articulate the NaphCare Charitable Foundation mission, goals, and the impact of its programs in grant applications.
o Develop persuasive narratives, budgets, and supporting documents to present a compelling case for funding.
Grant Management and Reporting:
o Monitor the progress of funded grants and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
o Collaborate with program managers and finance staff to gather data and information for grant reports.
o Maintain a systematic record of grant activities, submissions, and outcomes.
o Track and communicate key performance indicators and impact measures to demonstrate the effectiveness of funded programs.
Relationship Building and Networking:
o Establish and maintain relationships with federal agency representatives and program officers.
o Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and meetings to stay informed about grant opportunities and best practices.
o Collaborate with other organizations, community partners, and stakeholders to explore potential collaborative grant opportunities.
Compliance and Regulations:
o Stay updated on federal regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the NaphCare Charitable Foundation and NIH grant funding.
o Ensure compliance with federal regulations, reporting deadlines, and funding restrictions.
o Provide guidance and support to the NaphCare Charitable Foundation team regarding compliance matters related to NIH grant funding.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.
g.
, health sciences, public health, or related discipline).
A Master's degree or higher is preferred.
o Proven experience and success in NIH grant writing, specifically with federal grants related to healthcare or public health.
o In-depth knowledge of federal grant programs and funding mechanisms, such as HRSA grants, CDC grants, or NIH grants.
o Research skills to identify funding opportunities and stay updated on funding priorities and guidelines.
o Excellent writing and communication skills to effectively convey complex ideas and proposals.
o Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks.
o Proficient in grant management software and tools.
o Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and build relationships with external stakeholders.
o Analytical skills to evaluate program outcomes and impact measures.
